The Obama administration appears to be backing away from the plan to try the alleged mastermind of the Sept. 11 attacks in New York City.
The White House's revised stance comes amid calls from New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg and others that the trial should be moved out of Manhattan due to security costs, traffic delays and fears of new attacks.

Accused 9/11 Plotter Khalid Sheikh Mohammed Faces New York Trial
http://www.cnn.com/2009/CRIME/11/13/khalid.sheikh.mohammed/
Five Guantanamo Bay detainees with alleged ties to the 9/11 conspiracy, including accused mastermind Khalid Sheikh Mohammed, will be transferred to New York to go on trial in civilian court, Attorney General Eric Holder announced Friday.
I'd like to know exactly where in the Constitution these dirtbags get the same rights as the American citizens that they murdered? They also don't fall under the Geneva Convention treaty because they are non-uniformed soldiers. Therefore, why are we not following history here and continuing with military tribunals? They are swift executioners of justice, pun intended. Just wait until some technicality comes up and this man is acquitted.

NY Governor Paterson Rips White House For NYC 9/11 Trial
http://wcbstv.com/politics/911.trial.paterson.2.1316155.html
Some relatives fear the suspects could be freed on a technicality that a defense attorney could challenge Mohammed's confession to planning the attacks. The government admitted to using water-boarding interrogation techniques on him 183 times in 2003.
See this is the problem. Because if they are tried in our court system, they get all the same rights and privileges as a US citizen. Since some information was obtained through means that might not hold up constitutionally, they be let go or have a lesser sentence because of some technicality. Also, this introduces the appeals system in which the trial could drag on for years, on top of the 9 years it has already been since 9/11. Very bad idea, very bad.

CIA Confirms: Waterboarding 9/11 Mastermind Led to Info that Aborted 9/11-Style Attack on Los Angeles
http://www.cnsnews.com/public/content/article.aspx?RsrcID=46949"After he was subjected to the “waterboard” technique, KSM became cooperative, providing intelligence that led to the capture of key al Qaeda allies and, eventually, the closing down of an East Asian terrorist cell that had been tasked with carrying out the 9/11-style attack on Los Angeles."
'nough said.
