Obama Gets 'F' on Stopping Spread of Weapons of Mass Destruction

http://www.foxnews.com/politics/2010/01/25/obama-gets-f-stopping-spread-weapons-mass-destruction/

In a 19-page report card being published Tuesday, the bipartisan Commission on the Prevention of Weapons of Mass Destruction, Proliferation and Terrorism gives the Obama administration an "F" for failing to take key steps the commission outlined just over a year ago in its initial report.

Specifically, the commission concludes that the Obama administration, like the three administrations before it, has failed to pay consistent and urgent attention to increasing the nation's ability to respond quickly and effectively to a germ attack that would inflict massive casualties on the nation.

The commission repeated its warning that unless nations acted decisively and urgently, it was more likely than not that a WMD will be used in a terrorist attack somewhere in the world by the end of 2013, and that the terrorists' weapon of choice would be biological, rather than nuclear.

Up to 20% of Former Gitmo detainees are Suspected of or Confirmed to have Engaged in terrorist Activity After Their Release

http://www.bloomberg.com/apps/news?pid=newsarchive&sid=a7ab2K_0_80Y

As many as one in five former Guantanamo Bay detainees are suspected of or confirmed to have engaged in terrorist activity after their release, U.S. officials said, citing the latest government statistics.

The 20 percent rate is an increase over the 14 percent of former inmates that an April Pentagon report said were thought to have joined terrorist efforts, said the officials, who requested anonymity. The officials didn’t provide the numbers on which the 20 percent is based.

Our Inept Government's Responds to the Christmas Day Bomber

"System worked?"

"Allegedly? Suspect?"

"Systemic Failure?"

So which is it? The truth is the system failed because our leaders don't view this as a war. They view it as a police action. The see each incident separately. They don't understand that these people want to kill us no matter what. They think that tolerance and kindness will disuade these maniacs from strapping explosives to their crouches. They are so afraid of "offending" someone at airport screening that they put everyone under undue scrutiny. They are so afraid of a racism charge that they pretend to increase security by installing new machines and new policies. In reality though, it is how you train the people who use them. If you are taught not to single out those that are most likely to be terrorists, but rather use random screening, we have failed. If the enemy most of the time fits a neat description, common sense says we single out those people.

Navy SEALs Face Assault Charges for Capturing Most-Wanted Terrorist

http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,576646,00.html?utm_source=feedburner&utm_medium=feed&utm_campaign=Feed%3A+foxnews%2Flatest+%28FOXNews.com+-+Latest+Headlines%29

Navy SEALs have secretly captured one of the most wanted terrorists in Iraq — the alleged mastermind of the murder and mutilation of four Blackwater USA security guards in Fallujah in 2004. And three of the SEALs who captured him are now facing criminal charges, sources told FoxNews.com.

Ahmed Hashim Abed, whom the military code-named "Objective Amber," told investigators he was punched by his captors — and he had the bloody lip to prove it.

Now, instead of being lauded for bringing to justice a high-value target, three of the SEAL commandos, all enlisted, face assault charges and have retained lawyers.

The military is sensitive to charges of detainee abuse highlighted in the Abu Ghraib prison scandal. The Navy charged four SEALs with abuse in 2004 in connection with detainee treatment.

What has this country come to? So what if soldiers punched this terrorist coward that had US citizens murdered, burned, dragged through the streets, and hung from a bridge? These SEALs should be commended for their bravery, risking their lives to bring this sleazy ball to justice. Bringing our own soldiers up on charges does not make the rest of the world think more of us, it confirms our enemy's beliefs that we are weak and morally bankrupt.

Major Hasan's E-Mail: 'I Can't Wait to Join You' in Afterlife

http://abcnews.go.com/Blotter/major-hasans-mail-wait-join-afterlife/story?id=9130339&page=2

Gates said the Pentagon probe would try "to find possible gaps or deficiencies in Defense Department programs, processes and procedures for identifying service members who could potentially pose credible threats to others."

No there is nothing wrong with the process. They knew about this guy and what he was doing. They knew he sent this email. They knew the wording in it. And yet they did nothing because he was Muslim. And now with people dead.

How about some death with the political correctness?

Accused 9/11 Plotter Khalid Sheikh Mohammed Faces New York Trial

http://www.cnn.com/2009/CRIME/11/13/khalid.sheikh.mohammed/

Five Guantanamo Bay detainees with alleged ties to the 9/11 conspiracy, including accused mastermind Khalid Sheikh Mohammed, will be transferred to New York to go on trial in civilian court, Attorney General Eric Holder announced Friday.

I'd like to know exactly where in the Constitution these dirtbags get the same rights as the American citizens that they murdered? They also don't fall under the Geneva Convention treaty because they are non-uniformed soldiers. Therefore, why are we not following history here and continuing with military tribunals? They are swift executioners of justice, pun intended. Just wait until some technicality comes up and this man is acquitted.

Major Hasan Sought 'War Crimes' Prosecution of U.S. Soldiers

http://abcnews.go.com/Blotter/officials-major-hasan-sought-war-crimes-prosecution-us/story?id=9019904

Major Nidal Malik Hasan's military superiors repeatedly ignored or rebuffed his efforts to open criminal prosecutions of soldiers he claimed had confessed to "war crimes" during psychiatric counseling, according to investigative reports circulated among federal law enforcement officials.

How much you want to bet that if this was a tea-party goer that the administration would be all over this a screaming, look, look, this is what those evil right-wingers are like, don't listen to them! But no, because Hasan is a "protected" class, everyone ignored all the warnings and even now some want to attribute it to stress or some stupid excuse like that. What has happened to this country where we don't call a spade a spade?

Senate Committee Postpones Fort Hood Hearing At Request of White House

http://www.foxnews.com/politics/2009/11/16/senate-committee-postpones-fort-hood-hearing-request-white-house/

Defense Secretary Robert Gates, speaking to reporters aboard his plane last week, said all those privy to details on the ongoing investigation into the shooting "should just shut up."

That's in interesting sentiment, something sounds fishy here. And why was it that Obama was so quick to call a Cambridge police officer "stupid" without knowing all the facts, but has yet to denounce this act for what it was, radical Muslim terrorism. What, you afraid people will backlash against Muslims? How dumb do you think American's are? Americans know the difference between regular peace-loving Muslims and this perversion of the religion we see now. If I were Muslim I would hope to Allah that the president would denounce this act so that the distinction between Muslim terrorism and Muslim the religion could be reenforced. But no, now we have to wait and see if we can pin this somehow on being the fault of the US.

NY Governor Paterson Rips White House For NYC 9/11 Trial

http://wcbstv.com/politics/911.trial.paterson.2.1316155.html

Some relatives fear the suspects could be freed on a technicality that a defense attorney could challenge Mohammed's confession to planning the attacks. The government admitted to using water-boarding interrogation techniques on him 183 times in 2003.

See this is the problem. Because if they are tried in our court system, they get all the same rights and privileges as a US citizen. Since some information was obtained through means that might not hold up constitutionally, they be let go or have a lesser sentence because of some technicality. Also, this introduces the appeals system in which the trial could drag on for years, on top of the 9 years it has already been since 9/11. Very bad idea, very bad.

Obama's Frightening Insensitivity Following Shooting

http://www.nbcchicago.com/news/politics/A-Disconnected-President.html

President Obama didn't wait long after Tuesday's devastating elections to give critics another reason to question his leadership, but this time the subject matter was more grim than a pair of governorships.

After news broke out of the shooting at the Fort Hood Army post in Texas, the nation watched in horror as the toll of dead and injured climbed. The White House was notified immediately and by late afternoon, word went out that the president would speak about the incident prior to a previously scheduled appearance. At about 5 p.m., cable stations went to the president. The situation called for not only his trademark eloquence, but also grace and perspective.

But instead of a somber chief executive offering reassuring words and expressions of sympathy and compassion, viewers saw a wildly disconnected and inappropriately light president making introductory remarks. At the event, a Tribal Nations Conference hosted by the Department of Interior's Bureau of Indian affairs, the president thanked various staffers and offered a "shout-out" to "Dr. Joe Medicine Crow -- that Congressional Medal of Honor winner." Three minutes in, the president spoke about the shooting, in measured and appropriate terms. Who is advising him?

Airline Terror Trial: The Bomb Plot to Kill 10,000 People

http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/uknews/terrorism-in-the-uk/6153243/Airline-terror-trial-The-bomb-plot-to-kill-10000-people.html

The al-Qaeda cell plotted to cause mass murder by detonating home-made liquid explosives on board at least seven passenger flights bound for the US and Canada. The plot had the potential to be three times as deadly as the 9/11 attacks of 2001.

When the men were arrested, one of the plotters, Abdulla Ahmed Ali, had a computer memory stick in his pocket which highlighted seven flights from London to six cities in the US and Canada, each carrying between 241 and 286 passengers and crew.

Obama Administration Urged to Consider Expanded Interrogation Methods

http://www.foxnews.com/politics/2009/08/26/obama-administration-urged-consider-expanded-interrogation-methods/?test=latestnews

"The Army Field Manual is very, very restrictive in what it can do," said Michigan Rep. Pete Hoekstra, the top Republican on the House intelligence committee. "For high-value detainees, it's a joke. ... In theory, it sounds great."

The guidelines are all psychological in nature. The methods include good cop-bad cop, the silent treatment, and a trick in which interrogators can pretend to be from another country.

Charles Stimson, who as the former deputy assistant defense secretary for detainee affairs worked on the 2006 revision of the field manual, said the administration is expected to consider other techniques.

While Stimson defended the field manual guidelines as effective in many cases, he said there are others that could be put to good use.

"We will be constraining ourselves, inappropriately so, if we confined the CIA (or HIG) to the 19 techniques in the Army Field Manual," he said. "Our enemy trains to our protocol, studies our protocol ... (They) will know how to resist."

Other methods are mild enough to be authorized in any school principal's office.
One method, the "direct approach," is simply when the interrogator asks questions. Another involves creating incentives for cooperation. The "emotional pride" approach is when the interrogator flatters the prisoner into cooperating by appealing to his ego. The "silent approach" is also relatively mild.

Blowing Smoke at Terrorists

http://www.cnsnews.com/commentary/article/53088

"An Agency (redacted phrase) interrogator admitted that, in December 2002, he and another (redacted phrase) smoked cigars and blew cigar smoke in al-Nashiri's face during the interrogation," said the IG report.

In a more serious incident, a CIA interrogator reported that some unspecified interrogators told Khalid Sheikh Muhammad, the mastermind of the 9-11 attacks, that they would kill his children if America was attacked again.

"Sometime between 28 December 2002 and 1 January 2003, the debriefer used an unloaded semi-automatic handgun as a prop to frighten al-Nashiri into disclosing information," said the IG report.

With (redacted) consent, the debriefer entered the detainee's cell and revved the drill while the detainee stood naked and hooded. The debriefer did not touch al-Nashiri with the power drill."

Other reported instances in which CIA interrogators used unauthorized techniques did not merit a separate IG investigation, according to the report. "These included the making of threats, blowing cigar smoke, employing certain stress positions, the use of a stiff brush on a detainee and stepping on a detainee's ankle shackles," said the report.

How pansy are we? So, apparently we are the bad guy because we blow smoke, threaten, bring a prop gun, rev a drill, and step on shackles. Cowboy up America!

Obama Justice Department Withdraws "Special Administrative Measures" Imposed at Supermax Prison Housing "Shoe Bomber"

http://corner.nationalreview.com/post/?q=M2VjOGQ0MjkzNDhkYjk1YmNlNDlkZDQ5MjliNDQzNWE=

"Unbelievably, the Obama Justice Department has withdrawn the "special administrative measures" (SAMs) imposed at the federal supermax prison in Colorado against "Shoe Bomber" Richard Reid (the jihadist who tried to blow up a trans-Atlantic flight with nearly 200 people on board)...'SAMs are security directives, renewable yearly, issued by the attorney general when 'there is a substantial risk that a prisoner’s communications, correspondence or contacts with persons could result in death or serious bodily injury' to others.'"

"In a hand-written complaint, [Reid] asserted that he was being illegally prevented from performing daily “group prayers in a manner prescribed by my religion.” Yet the list of Reid’s potential fellow congregants at ADX Florence [i.e., the supermax prison] reads like a Who’s Who of al Qaeda’s most dangerous members: Ramzi Yousef and his three co-conspirators in the 1993 World Trade Center bombing; 9/11 conspirator Zacarias Moussaoui; “Millennium bomber” Ahmed Ressam; “Dirty bomber” Jose Padilla; Wadih el-Hage, Osama Bin Laden’s personal secretary, convicted in the 1998 U.S. Embassy bombing that killed 247 people."

"[The] detainee policy in the Obama/Holder Justice Department is now being shaped by former Human Rights Watch lawyer Jennifer Daskal, who thinks incarceration is tantamount to torture (recall her complaint that one jihadist, 'a self-styled poet,' was being subjected to severe mental trauma: He 'found it was nearly impossible to write poetry anymore because the prison guards would only allow him to keep a pen or pencil in his cell for short periods of time')."

They care so much about the "rights" of murders yet could care less about killing the innocent unborn.

Obama Considers Detaining Terror Suspects Indefinitely

http://online.wsj.com/article/SB124223286506515765.html

I'll be waiting for the uproar from the ACLU. Why do I get the feeling that it's not okay when Bush does it, but it is when Obama does it?

Obama Lawyers Defended Terrorists

http://www.newsmax.com/insidecover/obama_terrorists_lawyers/2009/05/10/212870.html

It's true, the Obama-appointed Attoney General Holder was a senior partner with Covington & Burling, a prestigious Washington, D.C. law firm. Here are some exerpts from summaries of the firm's activities for the past 2 years:

http://www.cov.com/files/upload/Public%20Service%20Activities%202008.pdf
Page 45:
"We represent sixteen men detained at the United States Naval Station at Guantánamo Bay, Cuba. Most of the men have been detained for approximately seven years."
"We have been involved in the Guantánamo related litigation for the last five years."

Page 41:
"We represent fifteen Yemenis, one Pakistani, and one Algerian imprisoned at Guantanamo. Most of the men -- most of whom we have represented since July 2004 -- have been at the prison for more than five years."

In addition, Holder supported President Clinton's pardon of FALN terrorists in 1999:

CIA Confirms: Waterboarding 9/11 Mastermind Led to Info that Aborted 9/11-Style Attack on Los Angeles

http://www.cnsnews.com/public/content/article.aspx?RsrcID=46949

"After he was subjected to the “waterboard” technique, KSM became cooperative, providing intelligence that led to the capture of key al Qaeda allies and, eventually, the closing down of an East Asian terrorist cell that had been tasked with carrying out the 9/11-style attack on Los Angeles."

'nough said.
