Chrysler could file bankruptcy next week
http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/30366383/
Why doesn't this boil people's blood? It sure does mine. Chrysler took millions of bailout dollars (read our dollars) and yet they will still file for bankruptcy where debt holders (read taxpayers) will get 22-65 cent on the dollar. Where is the outcry? The government just threw our money away. Our hard earned money that was slaved for at our jobs! What the Hell gives the government the right to confiscate our money and throw it away on such nonsense?
We were told the world would end if we let the auto makers fail. We were told too many jobs would be lost. So, we threw money it at and low and behold it didn't work. That's the mighty power of capitalism at work whuch the government should be bowing down to. They threw millions of dollars at a company and it STILL goes bankrupt.
And yet, they still call for more money, more intervention, because after all, only they can save us. How about no more spending, no more wasting, and give us back our money? Stop lying to us and admit that you were wrong. Admit that government intervention doesn't work. Resign your positions and let us election new decent leaders that will respect the rights of the people. We the people are responsible for our government and without speaking out we are silently accepting this outrage.

Clinton says Israel risks losing support on Iran
http://www.reuters.com/article/politicsNews/idUSTRE53M5CZ20090423?feedType=RSS&feedName=politicsNews&rpc=22&sp=true
No Mrs. Secretary, Arab support for Israel against Iran does not go hand in hand with Israeli participation in Palestinian peace talks, are you mad? There isn't one Arab country that on some level doesn't want Israel to wither and die. The only reason they want Israel at the negotiation table is so they can stall longer. The Palestinians, strike that, the leaders of the Palestinians don't want a two state solution, they want a one state, their own state, with the disappearance of Israel. At the Oslo accords a Palestinian state was handed to them on a silver platter and Arafat turned it down. Why? Because the plan involved the continued existence of Israel. If they wanted peace, we would have had it by now, Israel has offered up dozens of different concessions of the years except for the one that Arabs want. Therefore, we will continue to have Middle East turmoil until one side is eradicated.

Perez Hilton calls Miss California a 'dumb bitch'

And I thought gay people were suppose to be more tolerant and open-minded...apparently not. Perez Hilton should watch out though, Miss California could easily take him down with just her abs.
And also, since when does having a gay guy judge a MISS America competition make any sense?

CIA Confirms: Waterboarding 9/11 Mastermind Led to Info that Aborted 9/11-Style Attack on Los Angeles

"After he was subjected to the “waterboard” technique, KSM became cooperative, providing intelligence that led to the capture of key al Qaeda allies and, eventually, the closing down of an East Asian terrorist cell that had been tasked with carrying out the 9/11-style attack on Los Angeles."
'nough said.

How exactly does this make us more safe? How exactly does that help our troops in the field? How exactly is this the right thing to do? We will now get less intelligence from captured terrorists because they know the limits of our interrogation techniques. Less intelligence means less safe conditions of the ground. Less safe conditions of the ground means more casualties. Mr. President, you have just increased the chances that our soldiers getting injured or killed. Are you proud of yourself?

March housing construction falls 10.8 percent
http://finance.yahoo.com/news/March-housing-construction-apf-14943801.html
I told you it wasn't over. And what does this say? It says that demand is down and/or there is too much supply. What happens when demand is down and supply is up? Basic economics tell you that the prices will have to fall to induce buying again. This means that the price of houses still has a ways to fall before recovery can occur.

Nicolas Sarkozy puts Barack Obama in the doghouse
http://www.timesonline.co.uk/tol/news/world/world_agenda/article6098836.ece
I'm glad to see that some world leaders aren't bending over backwards to welcome Obama. This is what I've been saying all along, Obama is nothing more than a better package. He has a cooler image than presidents before him and thus can get away with saying and doing things that others cannot. There is nothing substantive behind has words, just rhetoric and I'm glad the French see that.
"The President is annoyed by what he sees as the naivety and the herd mentality of the media."

Imagine what would have happened if Cheney had continuously lied about events...I'm sure the press would be all over him, but when it's a liberal democrat, it's okay, we can tolerate those that stretch the truth.
Also, I don't like Rove's comment that Biden could get away with this as a Senator. No sir, you can't get away with it ever. This is why people don't like politics. We need to demand from our politicians a higher standard since they are leaders.

This is what happens when you don't teach kids civics in schools. We have already had the socialism/free market debate 200 years ago when this country was founded. There is no discussion to be had: socialism is a failed economic system. Why do you think our country has made more impvorements to our way of life in the last 200 years than all of the 5000 years of recorded history? We must have been doing something right. And now because no one is taught the principles on which this country was founded, we are throwing it all away.

Obama Bows to Saudi King
http://www.newsmax.com/insidecover/Obama_bow_king/2009/04/08/201193.html?s=al&promo_code=7DA5-1
What is the matter with our President? Bowing to a king in my opinion is a subservient gesture. What does that say about this country? The Times got it right when they said:
"No Americans of any station are required to bow to royalty," the Times stated. "It is one of the pillars of American exceptionalism that our country rejected traditional caste divisions."

I am sick and tired of politicians going overseas and bashing the country that they supposedly represent. By some misguided advice, Obama feels that in emasculating the US in front of the world, they will like us more.
"On every stage, Obama draped Lady Liberty in sackcloth and ashes, drawing plentiful applause but no serious economic or security cooperation in return."
So, if there is to be no economic or security cooperation, but they like us, that's a good thing? I argue that if they like us we are doing something wrong because these countries that Obama is going to often share little in the way of common interest with us. Therefore, the more these countries like us, the less I secure I feel about this country. The right path is never the one of least resistance yet Obama seems to think so. He seems to think that if we just take the path that the world agrees with, we will be better off. No, we will not be better off, we will be like the rest of the world and not the beacon of freedom that we have become. The US is where it is now specifically because we blazed a new trail based on the powerful new ideas of freedom and individual liberty. You begin to travel down paths of other countries that do not share these values, you erode the very foundation on which this country was founded.
"He relied on advice from State Department appeasement artists who understand neither Turkey, Islam"
Why not rely on the advice of our constitution and our founding fathers? By admitting that we are always wrong, it tells the world that we no longer strongly believe in that which has made us strong. Mr. President, stop placing this country at the feet of socialist, tyrants, and murders. You are better than that. We are better than.

Well put by Mr. Donohue, not much for me to add:
"The appointment of Knox advisory board makes a mockery of the faith-based program, said Bill Donohue, president of the Catholic League. “This is exactly the kind of bastardization of common sense that the Obama people are putting forth,” Donohue told CNSNews.com. “Quite frankly, I would prefer to see the entire faith-based initiative closed down. They’re going to use this as political capital in the Obama administration to say, ‘We reach out to people of faith.’ The whole thing is a sham.” “I’d rather people simply be honest and say we don’t believe in faith-based initiatives as they were initially intended by the previous administration, and what we’re going to do is thoroughly politicize them with these gay activists,” said Donohue."

Government Refuses to Accept Repayment of TARP Money

Well there it is people. And they said it couldn't happen here. Now I really hope I am proven wrong and the administration accepts the repayment eventually, but if not, we have just witnessed the beginnings of the forced nationalization of once private sector banks. When will people wake and realize what is happening? Hundreds of years of history has shown that when you give the government more power, it never relinquishes it. This is OUR money that the government is using in TARP. Is this what we want? What is next?

North Korea Rocket Launch on Track

The point here is not that North Korea will launch a rocket or whether or not it is for satellite or ballistic missile testing. No, the issue here is that Western nations have taught their enemies how to beat us. Regardless of how many stern warnings or convened security councils there are, North Korea will launch this missile as they have many times before and there is nothing anyone will do about. This has been the trademark of Western nation's diplomacy. We ask hundreds of times to not do something, they do it, and then we offer them rewards to not do it again. They accept and for a few years you hear nothing. Then when our enemies want something else, they get themselves in the news and the cycle repeats. The only problem here is that while Westerns observe this as a peace process, our enemies see these opportunities as preparatory periods in which they can do whatever they want covertly while still raking in the aide money. So, while it is wonderful North Korea hasn't nuked some city in the past decade, stern warnings and aide money are not going to deter them forever. One of these days we will wake up with one of our cities gone and wonder how this could have happened while all the while it was apparent: we need to walk less softly and carry a bigger stick.

G20 Leaders Hail Crisis Fightback

If there is one thing that I have learned in my short career in the business world is that initiatives are not judged by their intent, but by their results. Only in government and international politics do people hail intents, resolutions, and plans. We have no insight into whether or not pumping $1 trillion dollars into developing nations will improve the economic climate. Yet, we celebrate that our leaders came together and "did something." In my mind, world leaders have done nothing more than propose a business plan. Whether what they have laid out in their plan will be effective remains to be scene, but please, enough with this congratulatory back-patting when the jury is still out.

Crime rates go up and much more than just people's wallets will be affected. Maybe they should think before proposing such ridiculous legislation.
